Kalkan Market
Kalkan's weekly market takes place every Thursday. When visiting Kalkan a trip to the market should definitely be included in your itinerary. The market is located on the right-hand side about half way up the road known as "Bank Street" by the locals (the street where most of the banks are located) if you are staying in Kalkan it is easily reached on foot. There is a wide range of "genuine fake" goods such as Watches, replica designer T-Shirts, Jeans and tourist gifts including Turkish delight and wonderful aromatic spices on offer, together with a large choice of fresh fruit and vegetables, cheese and variety of teas.
The market opens around 08.30 until 17.30
AKBEL Market Islamlar held on a Sunday from 8am is another local Market to be found. It is a local Turkish market not aimed at tourists, but you will be able to find beautiful fresh fruit and vegetables along with local cheeses and olives. There are no genuine fake goods here but there are clothes stalls and houseware also shoes and carpet stalls.
